Beige boards with lime green and gilt lettering and graphic on the front board. There is gilt lettering and graphic on the spine. The spine is 2/3's faded. Green endpapers. Blue cloth attached bookmark still present and attached. Second free page has a bookseller's stamp in the lower right corner. Very slight foxing. Stated at back of last page is "Printed in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics". Also present are two numbers 15 and 39. "Childhood" and "Mother" translated by M. Wettlin. "The Artamonovs" translated by Helen Altschuler . DJ shows numerous small chips and tears and is reinforced by tape at the top and bottom of the spine and flaps. Flaps are cut diagonally by publisher. DJ is yellow with green letters and author's picture on the front board. Green graphic with yellow letters along the spine and a black letter "G" in lower part of the spine. Frontis is a black and white picture of the author. 831 pages.
